One of the best getaways from Nairobi, has to be Champagne Ridge, locally known as Il-Masin. Imagine leaving the City and all the things you want to forget... and 60 min later, you are enjoying breathtaking views of the great Rift Valley. You are not in Amboseli, but on a clear day, the snow peaked Mt. Kilimanjaro can be spotted! You are on Champagne Ridge, welcome to Kenya.
Raha Mstarehe
This house is more of an experience than a visit. Located only 33 kms from Nairobi (details below), the journey itself is an adventure. It is advisable to use a 4X4 vehicle to conquer the rough steep route; but if that is not possible, you can leave your car at the bottom of the hill... even for a day or two.
Forget everything
The road to Raha Mstarehe is tough, but the reward...woooh! With over 8 rooms (sleeps 14 comfortably), a plunge pool, barbeque cave, squash court, play house for the kids and the most amazing verandah for magical sun-downers; You'll quickly forget the struggle once you enter its doors.
One thing you will also notice about the house, there are so many sitting options; probably to encourage visitors to enjoy more time with their loved one(s) before a return to the City.
Plus the fact that it is a self-catering House, you get to prove those kitchen skills you've always told your friends about!
